i. Age        limit               for               direct recruitment: 50 years

ii. Age limit for deputation: 56 years

MD (or equivalent) OR Ph.D in Life Sciences/ Medical Sciences / Chemical Sciences / Engineering or equivalent with original work as evidenced by patents or publications with at least eight years’ of R & D experience.

For Deputation:

Scientists of the Central Govt./ State Govt./ Universities/ Public Sector Undertakings or Govt. funded research organizations/ institutes

subject     to     fulfilment      of                the   following conditions: –

(a) (i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in parent cadre or,

(ii) With five years regular service in the Pay Level-12      in the relevant field

(b) Possessing the qualifications prescribed for direct recruits.

Desirable: Since THSTI is involved in designing new therapeutics with a focus on translational research, experience in drug discovery, pharmacology and medicinal chemistry is desirable.
