Opportunities at Kathak Kendra

KATHAK KENDRA, NEW DELHI INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSTS OF TABLA PRASHIKSHAK, TABLA VAADAK, SARANGI VADAK AND VOCALIST (HINDUSTANI CLASSICAL TRADITION) .

The Tabla Prashikshak will be responsible for the training of the students of Advanced Courses of Kathak, who opt for Tabla as their allied subject. Training in allied subject is one of the core pillars of the training of full time students in Kathak Kendra, aimed at carving the future exponents of Kathak.

The Tabla Vadak, Sarangi Vadak and Vocalist are required to accompany the daily Dance and Music classes and the examinations twice a year. The full time employees, in addition, are alsorequired to participate in the events of the Kendra, as and when required.

THE DETAILS OF ALL THE THREE POSTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

A.Tabla Prashikshak : In the pay scale of Rs. 9300-34800+Grade Pay Rs. 4200.

Eligibility: Essential –
* Graduate Degree in Tabla from recognized University with a minimum of 5 years teaching experience
Or
* Qualification or experience that can be considered equivalent to the above Degree, to be approved by the duly constituted Selection Committee.
* Senior Secondary Examination Certificate (class XII)from a recognized board or university
* Age: Between 35-45 years as on 1st July 2016. This requirement may be relaxed by up to 5 years by the Selection Committee in case of those who have been performing and/or teaching, strictly in conformity with the tradition, at least for 8 years.

Eligibility: Desirable –
* Training/knowledge/expertise in any other field of performing arts, especially Kathak.
* Considerable performance and teaching experience.
* B High grade of All India Radio

B.Engagement on Contractual Basis :
(a.)Tabla Vadak
(b.)Sarangi Vadak
(c.)Vocalist – Hindustani Classical tradition

Eligibility: Essential –
* Training in respective subject from a recognized Institution/University with a minimum of 5 years of performanceexperience
Or
* Qualification or experience that can be considered equivalent to the said training, to be approved by the duly constituted Selection Committee
* Should have passed Class 10th
* Age: 25-35years for (a) & (b) as on 1st July 2016
25-45 years for (c) as on 1st July 2016

Eligibility: Desirable –
* Training/knowledge/expertise in any other field of performing arts, especially Kathak
* Graduate degree from a recognized university, in any stream
* B High grade of All India Radio
